What is Ledger Atom™?
Ledger Atom™ is a security and privacy device designed to protect sensitive digital activities while supporting everyday applications. Powered by Ledger OS™, it automatically enters Secure Mode for critical actions such as transactions, logins, and AI agent approvals, ensuring that what you see is what you sign. With advanced privacy controls, tamper protection, and secure transaction signing, Ledger Atom™ helps safeguard your digital life without trying to replace your phone.
Is Ledger Atom™ a phone?
No. Ledger Atom™ is a data-only device: it connects to 4G/5G networks for data only, with an eSIM. It does not support cellular voice calls, SMS or calls to emergency services such as 112 or 911. Voice or video calls may be possible through internet calling apps over data or Wi-Fi, but these must not be relied on to reach emergency services.
What is Secure Mode?
Secure Mode turns on automatically when you do something sensitive. Ledger OS™ takes over the whole screen, Standard Mode is locked out of the display and touch, and the cameras and microphone are cut. You confirm with your Ledger OS™ PIN. What you see is what you sign.
How do I know I'm in Secure Mode?
Look at the Secure Bar at the top of the screen. It is controlled only by Ledger OS™, so it can't be spoofed, and it shows SECURE or STANDARD.
Will my everyday apps work?
App availability depends on certifications and licences and will be confirmed before your device ships. Third-party apps are provided by their developers, not by Ledger.

What does the Privacy Switch do?
The Privacy Switch is a physical switch that cuts power to the cameras and microphone at the circuit level. It is not a software setting that can be bypassed. In Secure Mode, the cameras and microphone are cut automatically, whatever the switch position.
How does Ledger Atom™ protect against tampering?
It includes Ledger's most advanced anti-tampering and tamper-evident solutions to date: packaging designed to prevent resealing, detection if the enclosure is opened or the display removed, and protections for sensitive hardware such as the Secure Element.
Is Ledger Atom™ quantum ready?
Yes, it is quantum ready by design. It is compatible with the NIST post-quantum standards, with post-quantum cryptography accelerated in the secure hardware.
Can I use the Ledger Wallet™ app on it?
Yes. For the first time, one Ledger device is both the interface and the signer for the Ledger Wallet™ app. You can send crypto, and buy, sell, swap and earn through third-party services**, with every transaction signed on the Secure Screen.
Can I encrypt my messages?
Soon. Ledger Atom™ will support GPG/OpenPGP, so you can encrypt a message before sending it through the app of your choice. The messaging app never sees the unencrypted version, which is only shown when Ledger OS™ takes over. Messaging apps are provided by third parties.
Will it work with my mobile operator?
Ledger Atom™ comes in two regional versions, North America and rest of world, each with its own cellular bands. It requires an eSIM and does not support 2G or 3G. Compatibility with a given operator is not guaranteed, and some operators may not offer plans for data-only devices. Check the supported bands on the product page and with your operator before ordering. Based on the bands currently planned, Ledger Atom™ will not be fully compatible with all networks in Japan.
